I noticed a few days ago that we were switched to the Comcast backbone. Despite how I think the company is garbage their backbone was very strong, less hops and faster pings. There were absolutely no issues with Youtube and it most web sites seemed to load quicker, probably due to the lower pings. This morning while checking some lag issues I noticed we were back on the crappy AT&T backbone. Sure enough, some Youtube videos were buffering once again along with some live video from various sites. Can we request making the Comcast backbone as the primary and AT&T as a backup? Under AT&T a typical traceroute to Google.com yields a total of 16 hops (which includes in-house equipment) with a ping around 50 ms whereas Comcast only had 11 with a ping of 20 ms.
Anyone else notice the difference?
