I really like Mediacom. They have provided me excellent service since I have been using them. What I would like to know is who certifies their data usage meters? To me it seams like it is allowing the fox to watch the hen house. Is there some government agency that goes around and verifies that what an ISP calls a GB is actually a GB (like they do with gas stations)? If my router (which has no motive to lie) says that I am under my cap but Mediacom (more $$$) says that I am over my cap, what can I do about it? Unfortunately, Mediacom is the only internet option, besides dial-up, where I live. Any sugestions?
