I had a Mediacom tech out today because of internet dropping everytime I try to download anything. I have a Motorola SB6120 modem. When downloading anything even a 5 meg file it would intermittently drop connection. Today the tech came out and said my Downstream power level was a little off (-9 dBmV). He did run a new line from pole to house.
The one thing that stumped him was he noticed on my cable modem that it listed Channel ID 63 61 62 64. He said Mediacom doesn't even use these channel ID's. Also the frequency that it is using is 159000000 Hz, 147000000 Hz, 153000000 Hz, 165000000 Hz.
I live in Waterloo, Iowa.
Motorola SB6120
Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.13-SCM00-NOSH
Boot Version: PSPU-Boot 1.0.0.4m1
Hardware Version: 3.0
I am still having trouble downloading stuff. I am running this on a clean install of Windows 7. Even a driver from Nvidia may take 20 minuites to download. I have tried this on multiply computers with same result. I bought this modem off ebay so wondering if it is set up for another cable provider, or can if the firmware could be changed to mediacom's channel IDs.
Thanks
