[MO] Mediacom issues, internet intermittently drops

Been having issues with Mediacom internet for awhile, connection seems to drop intermittently and come back any time through out the day, connection drops from 10-30 seconds to a couple minutes. It's getting to the point to where I'm seriously considering to drop them and go back to the good ol reliable DSL. My connection speed is fine through a test from DSLreports but does show a high ping rate http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/225151 ,however, speakeasy and speedtest.net both don't work and say there is a latency issue. after a few minutes, Speedtest.net now works and shows a ping of 38ms. I really don't know what to do next. The kids are on the wireless a lot, the desktop is hard wired through the router (D-Link 655). The desktop has issues with some websites not coming up while others do so I really can't establish a pattern. I'm at a loss and frustrated. Below are the signals from the modem: Power Level: Signal to Noise Ratio: Channel 1: 0.2 dBmV 37.6 dB Channel 2: 1.6 dBmV 39.1 dB Channel 3: 1.1 dBmV 39.4 dB Channel 4: 0.9 dBmV 38.8 dB Channel 5: 1.2 dBmV 38.7 dB Channel 6: 1.4 dBmV 39.0 dB Channel 7: 1.5 dBmV 38.6 dB Channel 8: 1.1 dBmV 38.2 dB I need to either figure something out or just switch, but that means it's going to take some time cause we have Mediacom for all 3 services. I'm not too keen on having Mediacom come out cause their local techs are dumb IMO. I honestly think part of the issue is the location of our house and long drop we have, but not really for sure. Is there a way to monitor the connection to see when it drops? Would a smokeping do this?
