Afternoon all,
I figured I'd give everybody a little insight to the ultra 105, in the Quad Cities area.
I upgraded last night from 50 to 105/10. Yes, I gave up my "unlimited data cap", and who knows, in the upcoming years I may decide that was a bad choice, but for now 999gb a month is enough for me. Also, for $5 more a month, lol yes.. $5 more a month, why not double my speeds?
As of right now, I am not getting 105 d/l speeds. My best at this point has been 80d/l. U/l speeds have been pretty much consistent between 9.8 and 10.2.
Chad and crew are having a tech come out next week to look everything over on my end to see about getting the speeds a bit higher. I personally don't think they'll find anything on my end, just due to the fact my signals are pretty solid. However, considering this is 105, a minor problem with any of the cable could be causing enough of a problem but not screw with the settings.
:shrugs: At the least, I am going to have the tech change out connections, and 1 cable (approximately 5 foot length) from the exterior to the interior of the house. This I know has never been changed.
Am I disappointed in not getting 105d/l speeds? Not in the least. For me, $5 more a month was a no brainer. Web sites are loading quicker, etc... I am satisfied with what I'm getting right now. Would I love to see 100 + speeds? Oh for sure.. lol..
Overall I'm happy with what I have at the moment. Hopefully long term these higher speeds will result in rock solid service. :knock on wood:
