I have been with Mediacom for years (literally) and always paid for the fastest internet service I could get. I am on the Ultra Plus plan and for a very long while I was seeing 150 down easily (and almost 30 up). Recently, as in the last three weeks or so, my performance dropped off the map. Using a Cisco modem that Mediacom provided I was getting 15 down and not much better up. A tech came out, replaced the Cisco modem with a Hitron 2250, tested and saw better speeds for about an hour but since then using the Mediacom speedtest I consistently get 15 down and 10 up no matter what time of the day it is. I have recycled the modem, I am testing with a connection directly off the modem (no switch in the middle), different browsers, all to no avail. I have wireless disabled because I have a Nighthawk that provides me much better wireless. I am in SE DSM. I won't keep paying $100 for 150mbps service when I am getting 15. Also I found it peculiar that the tech said 'I am getting 80 but we don't guarantee anything so that's pretty good'. I am so incredibly frustrated at this point. :mad:
