Anyone else have their billing due date changed by Mediacom without any authorization or notice? I have paid my bill on the 25th of the month since I got Mediacom service in the early 2000s. Today, my internet was disconnected because I had a past due balance. I intended to pay that balance on the 25th, when I paid my current balance. However, my bill shows that my due date was changed to the 17th.
Now, when AT&T changed their payment dates a few months back to bring all billing cycles into line, they sent out a notice about a month beforehand to let everyone know. I received no such notice from Mediacom, and now I don't know if my due date has permanently changed or what's going on. A payment is made to them every month on time, and I don't appreciate Mediacom arbitrarily changing things to do with my account without informing me that they are changing.
I was going to upgrade my service to the next tier, but after this, I'm not sure what I want to do. Service outages and such are one thing, but when a company starts messing around with how they handle my money, that's a completely different story. As I said, I don't know if my due date has permanently changed, or if this is a one-time thing, or what's going on. In the past, if I had a past due balance, I could make my payment on the same due date as always and there were no problems - now, this happens. Has something like this happened to anyone else?
