My neighbor who has tried to get mediacom for quite awhile finally got someone to hook him up. His drop has to be at least 300 feet I live on half an acre and his yard is almost a full acre, pole is in the middle of my backyard and they have to go along my property line to his around his garage and into his home. I don't know how he got this hooked up, but he wanted the broadband (only service he has). As I watched this mess I figured it would cause me problems and already my rock steady upstream of 47 dBmv upstream is now at 51 and holding and it is only 60 degrees out, my downstream is now dropping below 37dBmv and my power level of 1 or 0 dBmv is now a solid -2. I have not had any disconnects or internet problems yet, but when the temp goes up I don't have high hopes. Is his drop the problem since I have always heard a drop like this causes huge problems for everyone. And if I am hitting 51, how is he even operational? It is the only change on that pole in like 6 months. Thanks for any input.
