I just got a notice (Web banner -- no e-mail) that I am over our data cap by nearly 50% with a week left in the billing period. This is 10 times what we've averaged the past three months, and our usage has not been out of the ordinary. Their "Internet Usage Report" page is useless; it doesn't break down day by day usage. It also says they e-mail you when you get to 75%, 85%, etc. We NEVER received one notice by e-mail prior to this notice at the top of a Web page. The e-mail address is our regular one, and we get other MC e-mails at it.
We use Netflix sparingly (maybe a half dozen one-hour shows per month). We have a Slingbox, but I would accurately estimate we only use it 50 hours per week (if that). I don't do online gaming, and I do not download music or videos. This seems outrageous, and we have a very secure network. Since this is our first "violation" they are waiving the penalty fee (which would have been $100). Is anyone else seeing this kind of stuff?
