So my dad got TV and internet installed initially June 1st. We were getting 53mbps on speedtest.net and subsequent speedtests were around that speed.
His contract for DirecTV was expiring so he called in and they gave him $50 off per month for a year on his bill, so he decided to keep DirecTV and called in and requested to cancel TV and have the internet be put on the 1 year 49.99 promo for ultra internet (100mbps.)
So far it appears things are not going well.
His upstream appears to be going up as when I originally checked on it after the install it was at 45dbmv... now one channel is at 52 and the other is at 51.
Modem he's using is an SB6120. He doesn't care if he can't get 100mbps all day every day but this is worse than the centurylink he cancelled.
All lines on the inside of the house are brand new runs, the aerial line from the tap hasn't been replaced in 10 years or maybe even longer.
He hates dealing with all of this stuff which is why I help.
