Switched to Mediacom a couple months back after years of bad service with CL. I bought my own modem prior to the tech coming out to install and was told by customer service to let him know so I won't be charged. First bill comes and I get charged $7.50 for the modem. I call customer service and was advised they would fix it and credit back my account. Next bill comes and it was credited back and I was not charged, fantastic. The following month, the charge is back on again. I again call and was advised they would credit my account and stop the charges. NEVER HAPPENED! This has gone on now for months! I have called/chatted with customer service 5-6 times on this and I got my bill again today and the charge is still there and still billing me for a modem rental that I have never had! I am seriously considering cancelling. Are they trying to wrip me off?????
