I'm using modem TC-W7960 (TP-Link). My computer is connected to the modem via Ethernet and I can get on the internet. I see the wifi signal being broadcasted and attempt to connect to it via my cell phone but it gets suck at obtaining ip. I am able to get to the router page by using 192.168.100.1 but not by the default information provided in the box of 192.168.1.1 or http://tplinkmodem.net. When I go to the router page all the router features are blocked unless I switch the device from Bridge Mode to Router Mode. When I try to change it to router mode, it reboots but the change does not stick. If I disconnect the coax cable the changes stick but change right back when the cable is plugged back in and the device reboots.
I found this reddit thread that is basically my same issue but when I talked to an agent of Mediacom via chat they didn't see this being the case. They 'provisioned' my router again but im still unable to connect. I almost feel like I should have stuck with ATT as their set up for this was plug and play but i am a noob. Can someone educate me as to what I'm doing wrong?
