About to move to retirement home where I've kept Launch Service for a few years for remote access to cameras, thermostat etc. Last year as a two year commitment expired the Internet Surcharge appeared on my bill, after some discussion with the phone rep this was waived for a year. My plan is to upgrade my speed when I move soon, but I still do not want video service. Is there a speed level where this charge does not kick in? This is a archaic surcharge, and if the only answer is to complain every year to get it waived makes it all the worse. Never thought I would be sad to leave Time Warner ... 15/1 connection, internet only, NO surcharges, NO caps :-(
