So I've been having regular connection issues the last 2 weeks. The connection will intermittently stall or drop. With the new "upgrade" it appears to have gotten MUCH worse. I'm only getting 45Mbit on a wired connection to the modem directly. (I am on Ultra Plus 150). The reliability of the connection has always been spotty but it has gotten really really bad. I'm posting to see if anyone else is seeing issues in this area (SE Wisconsin). If I call in, they will (of course) tell me they have no complaints and everything is fine. (Yeah...)
I am using a SB6121. Prior to these issues of the last week or so and this "upgrade" I could do nearly 150Mbps down and 25-30Mbps up regularly. I'm wondering if perhaps I need to upgrade my cable modem. It's not the newest model but it has always worked fine when Mediacom was running properly. I took a look at the modem page and everything seems proper, downstream power levels 6-7dBm on 4 channels. Upstream 2 channels 39-41dBm. Looks to be a lot of uncorrectable code words, I don't know if that is normal or not.
I have another property about 120 miles away in Iowa where I use an SB6183 and it's been rock solid for the last year plus (knock on wood). I may swap in a new 6183 here too. Are the DOCSIS 3.1 modems ready yet? I hate to buy a new modem only to replace it again in short order, if they are coming (or reasonably) soon.
