I have an outside issue effecting signals to my cable modem (tested it at the drop outside) but I still have to figure out how to clear another day waiting for Mediacom to come over. I set aside a day in October for them to come after I did not answer the phone that day (was outside doing yard work, watching for them to come).
The last two mornings, my upload has come to a crawl. Downstream power levels were very high at +12 and +11 dBmV and upstream channels were around 27 dBmV. So I stuck in two splitters to get the Downstream to about +4 and upstream is now at 32. Mediacom does not deny that there is a signal issue, they just refuse to have someone check out the pole unless I am home. The time between these two Holiday's is my busiest time. Working 6-7 days a week it is so very difficult to be around when they are available. I travel, so a 2 hour window during the means no work that day at all for me. Why is it impossible to have them test a signal on their line and fix it outside of the house?
