Its that time of year again. For the last few days, I have had bouts of packet loss each time the temperature dipped at night. Loss which gradually increased as the temperatures fell until eventually my connection dropped completely.
Strangely, there is no noticeable change in any of my modem signal levels during these events.
In the graph below, you can see packet loss occurring whenever the outdoor temperature dips below 42 degrees. Starting with a few flickers, then eventually to an annoying 30% and finally peaking at 70% before connection is lost all together.

Given the forecast, I will probably see more time offline than on for the next couple days. Started a conversation with Chad about this, but its been over 24hrs since I last heard anything back.
If mediacom is going to send out a technician, they better do it when it is COLD, and hopefully before it is that cold all day long.
