We recently started streaming TV shows so I have been keeping close tabs on my Mediacom usage meter. It is just my husband and I and a single TV......no HD movies, no gaming, uploading, downloading or watching YouTube videos....all we are doing is watching TV perhaps 6 hours a day. After 5 days we had consumed over 100 GB and I reduced the resolution from 1080 to 720. The next two days we used 50 GB and after reducing the resolution to 480 we used 20 GB over the next 24 hour period. This IN NO WAY is consistent with estimates from Netflix saying that low resolution (480) consumes 0.3 GB/hr and standard (720) consumes 0.7/hr while high def viewing uses 3 GB/hr. Mediacom says they only have a total GB usage and there are no logs or records which breakdown the time and type of data consumed in our household....my modem and router do not provide me with this information either.
I need some help with how to address this....Mediacom's number is not consistent with our viewing habits, nor is it in the realm of the calculated estimates for what we view. They claim not to have the data I need to dispute their numbers,
