This is pretty surprising. I've had Mediacom internet-only for many months. Recently, a Mediacom sales rep called and offered me Tivo + cable + internet, for the same price I've been paying. I confirmed with him three times -- no price increase for the additional services.
So I said yes. The first install appointment was botched. They didn't show, and eventually came late, and the guy was unprofessional, lazy, and didn't finish the job. The second install appointment was great ... but took a while.
Then, I got my bill. They almost doubled my old monthly price!
I called customer service, spoke with a great rep named Timothy, and he told me he completely believed me, that the sales rep lied! He said Mediacom does not have any promotion anywhere near that price ballpark. So we reverted back to my old service.
Just thought I'd let everyone know to watch out for this! I wasted a bunch of time through this whole mess, only to be back where I started. Mediacom sales reps will actually lie to you on a recorded line! And if they do, Mediacom will not honor those lies. And Mediacom knows that this happens sometimes! So beware!
