[IA] Modem/Router issues

Been experiencing so many issues with the modems I've been provided from Mediacom so I'm looking for help here. I've had 3 in the past 2 weeks or so, all of them have had issues. Initial gateway was a Cisco DPC3925. It had low download speeds, anywhere from 0.5mbps - 32mbps, then started dropping packets on hop 1, and high latency on hop 1 at random times. Argued for a year to get this replaced because of speed, every time I was told signal is to low or I can't have more than two devices. Wasn't until the packet loss and high ping was it replaced. 2nd one was a Technicolor TC8305C. First time in all the years I've had this service I got speed close to what I pay for (50-59mbps). Had no packet loss and low latency (Max 32 on hop 1), but it would drop all wifi devices and not allow them to reconnect until a hard reset was done. Happened multiple times a day. This modem was replaced after 10days. Now my 3rd modem, Technicolor TC8717T. This modem is doing the same thing the Cisco was. Slower download speed (20-40mbps), ping to the TC8717T jumps to 1k or more at times with occasional packet loss. At this point I am so tired of getting second hand units installed that have an issue. I know there is a signal issue at my residence, I've been told that for all the years we've had Mediacom. Techs have done everything from running all new lines from the pole to the box, new lines around the building, and even installing a signal booster. I can deal with shit download speeds, have been for years, but I cannot deal with high latency and dropping devices. | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | | 192.168.0.1 - 0 | 101 | 101 | 1 | 39 | 583 | 5 |
