A few months ago, I purchased an Arris SB6183. Hooked it up, had it provisioned, and it worked. About a month ago, a tech visited and said it "wasn't listed on my account" and that I should get it listed. No problem - I contacted Mediacom chat and told them I needed to list it on my account. The person I spoke with said it already was.
Last weekend, we had a service disruption in my area. When everything came back online, I saw that I had one upstream channel and one downstream channel (both within spec - see attached), but that "DOCSIS Network Access Enabled" was listed as "Disabled".
Sounds like it's not provisioned, no? So I call Mediacom and they confirm that it is not provisioned. I read them the MAC and they say it's unable to provision the modem, and that they will need to schedule a tech (NEXT Wednesday - the usual in my area, sadly).
I'm thinking this is a problem on their end, however - not mine. The upstream db is a bit high, but according to their techs, 50.5 is quite common in my area. It looks like the same type of problem described at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28281273-Equip-SBG6580-Access-Denied.
Really don't want to wait 1.5 weeks just to have a tech tell me it's a problem with the modem or their provisioning system. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
