For months, if not nearly 2 years now I've had virtually no issues with speeds or uptime aside from the occasional maintenance outage here or there.
Starting last week Ive gotten ridiculous uptime and speed issues. Constant dropouts, high ping, low speed or no speed at all. This happened late at night (apparently Mediacom did some maintenance for something) and since then its just been awful.
Whats odd is that I'll lose connection but my Surfboard (owned) is online, its got 8 channels down hasn't gone offline on its own. I've reset both the modem and router but nothing fixes it.
I remember having IPv6 issues last time it was rolled out and so I disabled it back then and its been fine until now. Came across a forum post on a google search and it was suggested using Link Only for ipv6 options might fix things. That seems to have made it better but Im still getting terrible speeds and reliability. Modem is online but sites have trouble resolving (I use Google DNS). Its possible my AirPort Extreme is on its way out but I doubt it. Nothing has changed in terms of my network topology so Im stumped as to whats going on.
