Ok so... Got a new modem motorola Sb6141, out previous modem was giving us issues with connectivity. The new modem fixed that problem. Now instead of our normal 30ish MBPS, we are down to a crawl of about .5 to 1 mbps.
If the modem is restarted, speeds go to normal for about 5-10 minutes before crashing down to nothing again and stay that way until its restarted. This has been going on for days.
The line goes from outside, to a 2 way splitter, 1 side goes directly to the modem, the other splits off to another splitter that run the 6 tv's in the house.
The only thing that I haven't done is change out the 2 way splitter, short of that nothing else can be done to fix this from my end. We have a tech supposed to come out sunday the 15th... the person I talked to on the phone says there is a HUGE signal problem and I concur. But what will this tech do about this? I'm curious and honestly am annoyed bye the fact we have to wait a week to get this resolved, IF he can even fix it himself.
Anyway, can I get some input on signal levels, possible causes etc from someone who knows what they are talking about.
