We're on the low 250GB cap, and with just the two of us, we've been able to do it easy enough since the caps were instituted, with only a couple random months of big update downloads where I'd unplug the modem for the last day or two. The past 2-3 months* our usage has come close to tripling. Whereas we used to be able to stick to the roughly 8GB/day necessary average, we apparently used 20GB from yesterday until this afternoon— and that only had basic internet usage like Facebook plus 1.5 hours on Hulu, which is way less than I used to do as I've been watching all my nighttime stuff on my iPhone's LTE all month rather than an iPad or more on TV (the iPhone has been off the wifi for a few weeks).
We did get an HDTV, but that was about 3 weeks ago. Nothing changed 3 months ago unless Hulu way upped their streaming resolution?? I have Netflix throttled back (since they're nice enough to allow that). Anybody know how to throttle video coming from Hulu or the others into an AppleTV or otherways? Somebody would have to be seriously sneaky to get on my network as it's locked down and I've been running "Who's on my wifi" (and I've seen nothing I don't recognize the MAC for). I just don't know where all this data is going, last month I unplugged the modem with 2 days to go as we were .9GB from going over 300GB… We're already at 50% usage with 22 days to go this month. I've got an SB6183, so I don't think there's a way to track through it…
*I say 2-3 as 2 months ago I had a project that involved transferring many gigs back and forth, so it is tough to know what was what that month, though we still were only over 100GB, but at least it made sense,
