[IA] Modem / Router combo

I'm setting up internet only for my son at college. Was looking at Surfboard SB6183 and the ASUS RT-AC68U. He has a handful of roommates, so I wanted to make sure that would work well with wifi coverage, etc. Haven't bought new equipment in a while, so I wanted to see if this would suffice.
