Please help internet issues West Des Moines

Hello, Been Mediacom customer for over 20 years and the last year has been pretty bad. Current issues: I keep dropping internet, bad because I work from home! I have run a traceroute and it keeps dying at times every 5 minutes and that could continue for hours. Called Tech support they said bad modem signals, so I go to my local Mediacom Cable and get a new modem. Still does not solve the problem. Tech comes out and checks all the connections. The signal is fine coming into the house, but they state its feedback coming back from the modem that is causing the issue? I do have one barrel splitter that Mediacom has put in place and the tech replaced it and signals he said got better. He said if it got worse then I need to run one cable with no splitter from modem to outside where their main splitters are. Questions is the splitter really causing this issue? Also he took my TiVo Dongle and said I did not need it anymore as the new modem has moca…. But now of course my other Tivo’s don’t work now except the main one. I supposedly have a tech coming back to fix the Tivo’s but my experience with Techs is underwhelming at best. Any thoughts?
