A HUGE thank you to MediacomChad for his excellent help over the past year!
I've been corresponding with Chad, for just shy of a year, trying to get the rest of my subdivision serviceable by Mediacom.
In half of my subdivision, we only had the choice of CenturyLink or Socket DSL, with a max speed of 10 Mbps. Some residents could only get 3 Mbps.
I decided to try and talk to the Mediacom office locally, and asked if getting a petition with signatures would encourage them to service the rest of the subdivision. They basically laughed, and said they had no plans of expansion.
I didn't like that as an answer and took it upon myself to express our interest that us residents, wanted Mediacom to expand their service to our homes. I somehow found a forum post on DSLReports from Google where someone had a similar situation. I noticed that Chad was very active in responding to customers, and he seemed to be my best hope.
I contacted him with my inquiry and we had exchanged IMs (63 IMs to be exact). I eventually created a petition and gathered signatures from the neighbors and shared this with Chad. He sent up an ROI with the information I gathered to see if it was deemed enough interest to expand. Lo and behold, it was deemed there was enough interest to expand!
After the construction plans were made, Chad and I kept in contact with updates. He was very good about giving updates out of the blue, and relaying information to me that was provided by the construction supervisor. Once the construction started, we'd correspond on the progress and service availability dates.
Upon completion he informed me that service was ready and that I could contact them for service. He also contacted me after he saw I had my service enabled and asked how everything went.
There's so much more I could share, but this would just turn into an extremely long post.
Chad has been the most helpful rep I have ever talked to, in this year long journey trying to get internet for the rest of us residents. If anyone has an problem with their service, or questions about Mediacom, Chad is your go to guy. He has the most helpful replies, and replies seemingly at all hours. I'm still unsure if he sleeps.
Again, thank you Chad for all of your help over the past year. Hopefully I won't have to reach out about problems, but if I do I know you'll be there to resolve any issues!
