Hello everyone.
Currently I have a 3mbps frontier DSL line, and I don't know how much more I can take. Having 3 active users with a handful of different devices, 3mbps just isn't cutting it. I am considering switching to Mediacom, but it seems there are a lot of hidden costs associated with that. For example, internet 100 starts at $50/mth but if you read the fine print, it jumps to $80 after one year? Also, looking at the rate card there seems to be an additional $15 surcharge if I only want internet? That's $95/mth for basic 100 down internet, not to mention any overage charges should we go over 1TB, any taxes added on to that, or the $100 modem I'll probably have to buy to get around the $11.50/mth modem rental fee.
I'm looking for people who can either vouch for or against Mediacom. Do they enforce data overages strictly? Do you get any breaks with all these fees and hidden costs? Do you ever reach your monthly cap? Any and all input is appreciated.
Thank you!
