Tech said a tap needed to be added... about a week ago?

So I had a mediacom appointment set up to get service at my new house. Neighbors have it all up and down the road, so I figured no big deal. However, the tech ended up saying there was no tap at my house, and that one would need to be installed for service. He said they'd get that order placed, then they'd set up another appointment to come back out and install service. That was about a week ago. Is this a normal time span to have to wait for a tap? I work from home, so internet is kind of a big thing for me.
