Is a 10+ day wait standard for a repair call.

A tree fell on a power line 1/2 mile from my house. The cable in my area runs on a 3rd line below the power line and the power lines got really close to the 3rd line. The Power company had power back in less than 2 hours by my Cable Internet has been out ever since. I called Mediacom Wednesday morning and notified them that a tree had contacted the lines and my Internet was out. The Lady said someone “Should” be out tomorrow (Thursday) to check it out. Here I am Sunday and no one showed up and I just noticed I have an Email saying I have a service appointment for OCT 6th. When I had an Issue with my DSL Centurylink usually had a service tech out that same day (usually noisy line every spring thaw). I don’t have a spare Modem to test with so it’s possible that my Arris SB8200 got fried from a power surge/back feed.
