So I've been on the Mediacom 200Mbps plan for a couple years. Had the original router – Arris SB6141, and have gotten consistently good speeds. Decided that I wanted at least 16x4 channels, so upgraded to the Motorola MB8600. Overkill for my plan you might say, but wanted to get a little extra "headroom" for the next few years if I decide to upgrade my service, etc.
Anyway, after plugging it in and giving Mediacom the new MAC address, I'm noticing download speeds in the 40-50Mbps range. After doing some reading, it sounds like there may be some necessary firmware updates that would be helpful? I'm hoping Mediacom might push those out to my modem shortly. the MB8600 is currently running firmware version 8600-18.2.9.
Any ideas?
