[MN] Error rates needing daily reboot

Many are probably as reliant as I am with their internet the past week and forseeable future. My Mediacom, unlike others, is typically solid. The past 3-4 days, I've been waking up with my WiFi is connected, but my cell phone was s showing the '!' next to my signal, showing a good connection to the router, but no internet access. Speedtest won't work. Running the refresh command through the support site seems to fix it each time. Called tech, said error rate occasionally gets to around 5%. The only thing that has changed is a few weeks ago I dropped voice off my account, and switched to ooma to save about $20 per month. I have an Arris sb6183 (3.0) that was been Rock solid the past 3 years, giving me 130 dl speeds, which I can't complain about on a 100mb account. Should I upgrade to a docsis 3.1? If so, which one? I saw on Amazon the Arris 3.1 is a bit flaky...
