There have been periodic frequent outages tonight in the Des Moines area since earlier this evening. I know the weather's bad, but the cable companies always love to tout cable not going out due to weather as being one of the perks of not having satellite (and generally, in fairness to Mediacom, it's been true in my experience). Internet and phone are unaffected. Channels will just go unavailable from anywhere from 60-180 seconds. It started occurring well before any of the weather even reached central Iowa, also, so I'm not sure how related it is. If it's unrelated, this is a very very inconvenient time for it to be happening.
