I just switched from Centurylink to Mediacom for faster speed and (I was hoping) more reliability. The tech was here 3 days ago to install my 100/10 Ultra package and it worked fine that first day. The next day it went out and I had to call them to reactivate it. Since then it doesn't stay up for more than a few hours before going out again. I've called repeated, used their phone system to reset the modem, and eventually talked to someone that reset it (again) and said the earliest they could send someone out is next Thursday. (Which is ironically the same day they are supposed to install my cable and phone)
That was about 3 hours ago and it just went out again. So yeah, I'm pretty frustrated.
Is this the kind of service I can expect from Mediacom? The speed's nice when it works, but so far I've had it 4 days and it's stopped working every single day and I'm sick of dealing with their damn phone system. If this is what I have to look forwards to I'd rather cancel now before they come to install everything else? I had problems with Centurylink but at least it worked most of the time.
