On June 10 contractors using a cherry picker were working on the cable behind my house. I talked to the workers and they told me that they were replacing cable damaged by squirrels. The new lines were free of problems.
On August 8 my Pace HD DTA started reporting channel not subscribed on some channels and then all channels went out. I noticed a Mediacom tech up in a cherry picker working on the line which explained the outage. I talked to the tech and he said that he had to splice a line and that I should request a new signal to be sent for the Pace unit when he finished. Signals were sent to the unit and late that night all channels on the DTA started working.
In the days after August 8 my Pace unit and internet connection became unreliable. Channels on the Pace unit stop working with a not subscribed message but, after changing away and back, the channel works. My internet connection drops constantly but my modem light show connectivity. My downstream and upstream modem signal levels are good. Downstream power levels are between 0 and -2 with a 37 s/n ratio. Upstream power level is 39. Signal stats show incredibly high errored codewords. I am certain that the unreliability is not related to any of my equipment or in-house lines. The problems all started the day the Mediacom tech spliced a line.
On August 13, I started monitoring my disconnects. The result is shown below.
