Everything has been just AMAZING the past 2 years. Haven't had any issues with Mediacom at all. Service, support, or billing.
I use my own Motorola modem for internet and have for the past 4 or so years and am using some other modem provided by Mediacom for phone.
2 Saturday's ago at 3AM MC had an outage. I called, and it seemed as if nobody knew there was an outage at the time. After going through the standard routine, they said, maybe its my modem that went bad. I tell them good night and I'll check again in the morning.
Morning comes by internet is still out, I call back and they say yes there WAS an outage the night before but it has been resolved. My internet still not being back, they said it's my modem. She provisioned my phone modem for internet as well to test.
Turns out my internet does work through my phone modem now.
I can't believe the ridiculous coincidence of MC having an outage during the exact same 10 hours that my modem goes bad?
I call back today to see if I can provision my old modem back to my internet, not believing that it really has gone bad. I plug it in, all the lights look fine, I'm able to get outside my network to 10.142.160.1 on a trace so I'm thinking it should be good.
I call in and the tech says my modem is not online and is probably bad.
Edit: Signals on the modem are all perfect by the way. Lights are fine. Like I said, I can even get to 10.142.160.1 on a trace, which is outside my network.
