My mother is in her middle 80's and a Mediacom subscriber. She currently just has cable service where the coax connects directly to the TV. No boxes.
She keeps getting calls from Mediacom trying to sell her a small cable box that apparently costs less than their bigger boxes which include DVR and Video on Demand.
What do these small boxes do and how much do they cost?
I am not a Mediacom subscriber as I moved out of their service area in my town a few years ago and now use Directv.
Bearing in mind that my parents do have 3 nice flat screen HD tv's but little tech skill, I try to recommend they keep their TV service as simple as possible. Because of their advanced age things tend to work out better for them if they don't get too technicle.
