I have called and have a tech coming out on the 7th, but I have some questions and thought you guys could point me in the right direction of where to go with the tech. I have the 15/1 plan and I have always had great speeds in my area (johnston, ia part of the Des Moines area). Recently, the last couple weeks, I have noticed that speeds drop out real bad during the day, from about 10 or 11 am until about 4 or 5 pm. I have been running checks and found nothing on my end. I have run many different speed tests from different websites and my router. I have also ran them with with just one computer hardwired to the modem and I get the same results. Here they are: between 2 and 3 Mbps down and 4 to 5 Mbps up. I know, great up but down sucks. After 5 pm or so my speeds return to where they should be 15 to 17 Mbps down and 1 to 2 Mbps up. I would figure that if it were a modem problem (yes I have reset it) it would be all the time and not just during the day. I have never had utilization problems in my area, so, any ideas? I just don't want the tech to shrug his shoulders say utilization and walk out. If that is utilization that is horrible, I would expect 12 to 13 or maybe even 10, but 2 or 3, no way. It also wouldn't explain the really high upload I am getting during that time. Thanks for any help.
