[MO] Routing Issues (maybe?)

I live in Springfield, MO. However, I have been noticing lately that everything seems to show that my connection enters the public Internet starting in Des Moines, IA area (Ankeny) now. What lead me to notice this is that any site that takes my public IP and then presents information to me based on that location started giving me information for Iowa. Google Maps always starts me there now, so does Google News. So I started doing some checking and sure enough, every GeoIP source I look at says I'm in Iowa. I started doing some traceroutes and everything originates from there before hitting the public Internet. One test I've done in the past and did now is tracing a route to servers that I know are run out of a datacenter here in town from my work. Usually the trace is just a few hops locally and I'm there. Now I notice that I'm going from IA to SD to KS before I get to our datacenter across town. All arrows point to the fact that I now show as originating from IA, which makes me believe everything I do must make some sort of tunnel up there before hitting the public Internet. Did Mediacom make a change recently (last few months) where everything pipes up to there before going public? Traceroutes seem to back up this fact--every one of them starts me up there before going elsewhere. This might explain where I've been seeing some speed issues with some things (maybe) on top of the annoying fact that everything sees me as from Iowa and presents information as if I was.
