I live in Chillicothe, IL and currently have a basic Mediacom plan. I understand that Mediacom performs maintenance on their systems on a regular basis, but the times chosen seem to be random. They seem to happen anywhere between midnight and 6am and there does not seem to be a pattern on which days they do it? I understand that the systems need to be maintained and I appreciate their efforts in trying to keep everything running smoothly. On the flip side this causes me many complications as I have obligations to take care of that require me to be online, especially during the times they perform maintenance, and unfortunately it has caused me many issues as a result as they are often sensitive, whether that be SSH'ing to a Linux system or even talking to a client.
Is there some kind of maintenance schedule somewhere which I can view and make plans accordingly? I understand that there are cases in which downtime is unexpected (ie equipment failure), but I am speaking more about the planned, routine maintenance which seems to happen often. Is it a possibility I could get compensated as well? IE a internet plan upgrade?
I would give them a call as well, however, my phone is broken at the moment.
