Yes, I consulted the Mediacom Approved Modem site. That being said...
Been a Telco Internet guy for a long while, and now will be getting Mediacom internet. Not interested in renting a modem for $7.50/month, so I am purchasing. Does it make sense to stick to the "Official" supported modems that are on the list at the above mentioned site?
The site does mention that it needs to be Docsis 3.0 or 3.1, and for certain speeds needs to be at least either 4 channel or 8 channel modems. I'm so far ordering 50 Mbps
I'm not interested in a Gateway, as I have an Asus RT-N66U I use for Wifi.
I'm leaning towards an Arris SB6141 or SB6183, but those aren't specified on the fully supported/certified list, so my other thought is an Arris TM822G, which is on the fully supported list. I have used SB series modems before, most recently the Moto/Arris SB6121 about 4 years ago on Comcast/Xfinity
Any thoughts and/or experiences are appreciated!
