[IA] Broken support -- web site gives errors, phone menu fails, no chat

We ran into an issue with USA Network programming; the show volume is set very low but the commercials are full blast. That's a TV issue, not internet, and it looks like someone, who may well work for USA Network, has noticed, because it's fixed--but what may be of more general interest is what happened when we tried to report the issue. 1. There's no chat available as I type. 2. support.mediacomcable.com is broken; it shows a page claiming an unexpected error occurred. 3. When I tried calling, after saying there was heavy call volume and suggesting that I go to the web site for the online chat (which wasn't available, not to mention that when one does actually have an internet issue, how is one supposed to use the web site?), it claimed not to recognize the phone number associated with the account even though it shows up on the "Thank You for Choosing Mediacom" email. It then asked me for my account number twice in immediate succession--no pause for me to actually enter the number. I gave up. Perhaps heavy call volume triggers some bug; when I called just now there wasn't a "heavy call volume" message and it seemed to have returned to sanity, accepting the phone number and asking for the account number for verification (or "*" if I didn't have it handy).
