Just moved to Urbandale and ever since we had the Mediacom service installed here it has been troublesome, kind of a ridiculous nightmare to be honest.
We have the whole house wifi in a big impressive looking brand new Samsung wifi cable modem/router/access point from Mediacom which works fine, but the internet keeps bouncing on and off. At first it didn't work but for 10 minutes a day...we had multiple techs out, the third of which finally realized that the tap settings at the distribution box needed an increase which gave us internet for most of the day. But now it just dies frequently, every 2 minutes, 10 minutes/half hour...its very inconsistent. But frustrating!
At the previous house we had CenturyLink and it was slower but rarely did it go out.
Calls to Mediacom's automated line (never get to talk to a human) just result in a completely inexperienced tech being scheduled days and days away, which just results in them saying it seems ok to them...
Anybody out there know what we can do? There are no other service providers servicing this address. Help!
