I am keeping in contact with MediacomChad to hopefully resolve this issue. I had a 3rd party tech come out yesterday to hook up the 1 gig service. I was not home, but the wife was home. A little backstory before the yesterday's appointment. I bought the CM1000 as it was on the approved list with Mediacom from Staples on Sunday. I had the modem provisioned with Mediacom, but they stated I would not get the 1 gig speeds until a service tech came out to install it. I had no problems with that. However, when I started using the modem, the internet would keep cutting out and started to self-reboot itself. I figured maybe it was just updating the firmware. So I let it do its thing. Well it didn't stop doing it. It kept rebooting all the time. I called Mediacom to let them know and I ended up switching back to my stable TP-Link modem. All was well and I had stable internet connection again. Come Monday (yesterday) the tech comes out and hooks up the 1 gig service. He checks the speed on his laptop and was only getting about 250Mbps to 280Mbps. He admits to my wife that the internet sucks in this area and states that that is the fastest speed I'll get for this area. He says that if I buy a Samsung Docsis 3.1 modem that I might see speeds of around 350Mbps. He also told my wife that he put a filter outside and that should keep the modem from rebooting. So all day Monday we had no problems with the rebooting issue, however, the internet speed is not acceptable for what we paid for. Come Tuesday (today) the modem starts doing the rebooting issue all over again. I had to call Mediacom to re-provision my old TP-Link modem so that I have usable internet. I also told the Mediacom rep that I am paying for 1 gig service and am only get 250Mbps on average download speed with 60Mbps upload speed. I just setup an appointment with Mediacom for this Friday so we will see how it goes. I also told the rep that I would like to have an in-house tech come out. She said she could only make a note on the work order but could not guarantee one. I know there was someone else on this forum that seemed to get free internet for 5 months till they finally upgraded the node? and it fixed it? I dunno, I could be wrong.
