[IA] Slow 1/2 Speeds

First Off, I always blamed ISP for slow speeds.. But, boy do I have stories. I am just going to talk about my latest experience and how I fixed it. First,if you want any Control at all.. Get your own Router.. I'm not going to post about their Control Panel. (Yikes) People will know what I'm talking about if you have had any experience with MC Control Panel. So I got my wonderful Port Forwarding back. I bought an expensive $300 hundred dollar one. My Combo is a Arris SB8200 about 190.00 it has aggregated LAN ports. 2 Cat7 Cables into a Knighthawk AC8 that supports it. Problem was getting Half-Speed.. Pay for Gig service was getting 485 meg or slower. Was it Mediacom?? Turns out it was Firmware that was making me slow. Try back dating your firmware on your Router (NetGear) if you have speed issues. They are aware of this problem. I back dated about a week ago.. Speeds have been topping out at almost 950.. If you plug directly in and you get your paid speed it is your Router causing the problem not Mediacom. I can attest that this worked for me. If you have port forwarding problems dump that Control Panel and buy some good Equipment that handles the speed. Hope this helps with some of your frustrations. Also run new LAN Cables either Cat7 or Cat8. Speed Blues suck.. Timesoarer.. If I get any responses from this post I can post some other Speed stories and frustrations. I have been a customer for years since they came to Boone. I just want stability and the speeds that I'm Paying for... It Really does take some updated equipment if your into Top Tier Speed.... I got enough Old Modems and Routers here to Supply third World Country's.
