My internet has been down all day. After calling the automated support, it determined that I need a technician to come to my house. The earliest appointment is a week from today. A week without internet is too long. Is there anything I can do on my end to fix it? Here is what I have done so far. I have disconnected my router from the modem (Arris SB8200) and connected the modem directly to my laptop using ethernet. No internet. I brought the modem down to the basement and connected it directly to the cable coming into the house and then to my laptop, still no internet. All four of the modem lights are lit. Could there be problems with the modem? Or is it with the internet line? Any suggestions would be great.
