What is the policy on pushing firmware to customer owned devices? Does Mediacom only do this for modems on the supported list, or not at all unless they are leased/rented?
I have a friend who just got mediacom a few weeks ago and who purchased his own Netgear C6300v2 (not on the latest supported list). It is having wifi stability issues and it is on an old firmware version. He wants to get it up to the latest version to hopefully fix those issues.
I am also a Mediacom customer with a purchased modem (although I have a separate Wifi access point) so I'd like to know the answer to this just for my own information too.
