Helping my parents out. They get a new Mediacom install last week, and tonight they suddenly lost internet.
Checking what I can see, modem locks a single channel down. And that's it. No up bonding.
Logs show B-INIT-RNG failures.
On the one channel that bonds down, power is at -7.3 dBmV which I know is slightly less than ideal. Possibly the issue.
Anyways, this is zipcode 52742 and since it's winter, the outside cable hasn't been buried. With ice and snow in the last week my guess is it has to do with the outdoor line to the house.
We called and have a tech coming Tuesday 10-12. But we're my dad working remotely, I'm really hoping there is a way to get a local tech to check things out tomorrow.
Any advice?
