Getting pretty frustrated. I pay for 50/5 service, which is marketed at heavy internet users. My wife and I watch most of our video content via the internet (Amazon Prime, Netflix and HBO GO). I stream to twitch.tv, which is why we chose the 50/5 service because 5 up is the best I can get in the Des Moines Metro area.
Everytime I load up netflix, it auto adjusts to 2/4 quality, and stutters/buffers every 2-3 minutes. HBO GO does the exact same thing. I have no issues with this on twitch.tv (full quality, no buffering etc etc). Bootleg streaming sites also work without issue. That seems to indicate pretty clearly that there is a rate limit setup. I know for a fact that ATT does rate limit netflix. I know for a fact that Mediacom buys a lot of their aggregate links from ATT. I also know for a fact that Mediacom is in the process of rolling out QWILT (http://www.qwilt.com/) and they are testing in MN currently (or in the near future). Problem is, that does nothing for me now. I know calling in will get me nowhere. Just frustrated and wanted to vent.
