[Cable HSI] Tested Xtream Wifi 360 vs Luma Surround Wifi
I performed a very basic test using my Motorola android phone, wifi analyzer, and Ookla Speedtest app. I have the Luma Hub connected to the modem in my office. I have Luma Node 1 and Mediacom Extender 1 connected in the living room, and Luma Node 2 and Mediacom Extender 2 connected in the basement. I stood within 10 feet of the access points. I have Internet 100: 100 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up.

Luma has a slightly better signal strength.
Wifi 360 is overall faster. (especially in the basement where the game room is)
During setup 2 of the Luma Nodes did a firmware update and one did not update. Using the Luma app I contacted tech support and within 10 minutes they pushed the update and everything was working. The Luma app has privacy controls, parental controls, and some other options that Mediacom doesn't offer.

[FL] Settings for IPV6 on Asus RT-AC68P (Resolved)
Looking for some help. I want to enable IPV6 on my Asus RT-AC68P router running Merlin irmware. Asus says to check with my ISP, but I can't find any information on the MediaCom support site. What connection type do I use? I have the choice of Native, Static, Passthru, Flets ipv6 service, tunnel 6to4, tunnel 6in4, Tunnel 6rd.

Partial HD on digital signal?
I was told a few things today by a rep named Adam that seemed just ridiculous, or outright lies because he was annoyed to be working today.
He told me, but couldn't explain how, the digital signal coming into the house carries some channels in HD and not others, and somehow a cablebox won't decrypt to add the missing HD channels, but somehow "configures" the channels to be accessible.
I've talked to a few people who seem to agree as long as your TV has a digital tuner, you should get every channel. I'd like this verified, or proven wrong. Do they do this to make money off the cable box? Or did I just get a load of bs.
Second, I asked if he had a cable box on the truck. He said yes, but conveniently he couldn't set it up himself because "it takes uh 24 hours for everything to configure" - "uh I'm not doing that today" - "uh it just seems to complete sooner if you go to the local office" - "uh there's like delays in the billing side"
He told me they do have their own service number they can call, and apparently unlike every other cable company I've used (5 now) that service line doesn't allow them to activate a box.
Is this normal for mediacom? I'm considering cancelling it because why bother paying for service that isn't fully provided. Even when asked if it's fully provided, it's a walk-around type of deal

[FL] Gigabit Internet and not breaking 500Mpbs speeds
Hello Peeps and hopefully Chad! I've had Mediacom gigabit for around a month or so and my speeds (using http://speedtest.mediacomtoday.com/) are in the high 300's to low 400's mbps down. I didn't know if this is expected or acceptable for gigabit service. Honestly at this point our service has finally been rock solid stable so I haven't said much lol. Also after having straight up issues for 4 months solid they finally busted tail and a tech spent 3-4 hours here to get it right. Thanks for that btw! I know when I beta tested for a week or so our speeds were consistently in the 900's down. Now upload is always 50-70 mpbs. I have a Mediacom rented modem (Ubee emta with router enabled) so I can't really check the signal levels. I'm assuming since I'm getting over 250mpbs down the OFDM (acronym sp?) signal has locked. Now I did want to say I have tried plugging the same laptop in (with the power cord attached and it's windows 10) to the modem/router on port 1, rebooted the modem, then ran a speed test and still got low to mid 400's down. Is this expected? If so it's no biggie as I know "advertised" bandwidth and real world bandwidth are usually two different things. Before I continue I have had to swap out somewhere in the ballpark of 4-5 Technicolor modems since August of last year and those all got the same speeds too. So I'm thinking if there is a possible configuration issue maybe it's on the backend or outside of the house hopefully. I'm going to pm Chad my account info and the link to this post but I was hoping maybe some other peeps might have some input on this.

[IA] Internet off and on here in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Very strange problem just within the last 2 hours. Internet off and on at least 4 times in the last 2 hours. Finally came on within the past 15 minutes. When this happens what is the best way to report it? With my previous provider they said there was no reason to call cause they monitor everything at there office and can tell when there is a problem. I rebooted my modem and it took several minutes for it to reboot. Very unusual for it to take that long. Same with my router. Thanks!

[FL] Gig Bit service since Sept _ SLOW SPEED
I have had the GB service since September. I have yet to get resolution to my issue.
I have placed 13 calls into support, SEVERAL tech visits, 3 modems. Only recently have I received any credit (which at this point I guess is better than nothing) I have YET another tech visit scheduled for Monday
My uploads are excellent and where they should be. I have been trying to be understanding and patient.
Either provide customers with advertised speeds or pull the option until you have it working.

[MO] Columbia, MO has been out for like two hours now...
No internet, no cable..begining to feel really really pissed. Call in and they say expected to be out until 5:00 or so....I start missing tonights ballgames, I will really lose is. Missing NCAA tournament is beyond unacceptable.

Service out 64024
Been down nearing 2 hours now, area wide cable & internet.
Interesting though is that cable modem still connected to 16 down/3 up at normal signals and snr's but zero throughput. Only local channels are coming in, everything else "problem with signal".
Tried to call, but only getting busy signal (on a # not associated with my account as that will just hang up on you during an outage).
Any other areas impacted or ETA for fix?

Looks like someone forgot to renew the cert...it expired 5 days ago and I'm getting the scary warning about the site.

[Cable HSI] Intermittent Problems
Hello to all, I really need some help. I've been having super bad intermittent problems for about 2 months now. When I play an online game or go to load a page, it will work fine for about 30 seconds then I will lose connection for a second or so and that's enough to log me out of my online game. I use google documents for my papers for college and you cannot edit when you are offline, and most of the time I can't edit. I have had about 5 technicians out to come look at it and they all seem to see my levels are fine and they don't ever fix the problem. I have tried a couple different hitron routers from mediacom, but none help. I ran the ping test and it was either an E of an F as the grade. It's like fighting an uphill battle because I know that there is a problem, but it seems they don't believe me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[FL] Service in Wallace/Chumuckla area?
Hey everyone. I haven't had much luck with Mediacom on the phone, and I sent Chad an IM to which I have not yet received a reply. Past reps have said my address doesn't exist in their system. I live on a large piece of property right off Chumuckla Hwy, and I'm trying to see if there's any cable ran out here so I can get better internet than what AT&T has to offer. Does Mediacom have a map that actually shows where their lines are ran to see if it's possible for me to get their services out here?

[IL] Motorola MB7420 with MediaCom?
Hello-
I just bought a MB7420 to replace my MediaCom-provided Hitron and can not get it activated. I found the 'approved modems' listings after the purchase so this is a last ditch effort before I exchange it for another brand. Despite it not being on the approved list, customer reviews report it working with MediaCom (iirc in Iowa) so I gave it a try. Can anyone confirm that this modem is compatible and, if so, what is the secret bit of information to pass to tech support to get it working?
Symptoms: Once connected, I get solid blue up/down arrows. 16 downstream channels locked, 3 upstream channels locked. Error message on the modem's admin page is the generic "access denied". I cannot access maestro.mediacomcc.com once connected (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET); I have to do that via my phone which is a real pain.
Setup: Coax from previous modem connected to new modem, computer connected directly to modem (bypassed my ap/router). "ipconfig /renew" gets me a valid 192.168 IP but no DNS services. Manual config of DNS services on the computer had no change.
Contacted support twice. Both times the agents said the modem was not visible on their end. First agent tried to activate it anyways which at least resulted in the modem getting the correct configuration file (I saw tftp then the config file name was indicative of the internet plan I have "200 yada yada"). But still no success. Second agent didn't even try.

Phone
Phone rings, pick up and people who called can hear me but I can not hear them. Call out and phone works normal. wondering if there is a major problem in Decatur as my son has been without internet 3 out of last 4 weekends and is out again right now. Called tech support and they called back but I could not hear them, so I told them to email me as I could not hear them but have not got any thing yet. Counting on Gulfbreeze again!

[Cable HSI] Saturday my modem started giving me a 172.31.7 IP and nothing works
Like the subject says, I used to have a 50.81 IP for the longest time. Saturday morning while I was away my Internet stopped working. When I got home, my router was getting a 172.31.7 IP from DHCP. I'm on 1GB using a Technicolor TC4-4400AM. I've never had issues before. When I called tech support they reset my modem and when they looked at my account it for some reason said I had homeWiFi through Mediacom, which I have never had. They weren't able to help and now my cable modem keeps reseting in a loop. They say it is a signal issue and they are sending a tech out on Tuesday.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Its almost like I'm sandboxed.

[IA] gigabit incorrect speeds. unstable connections
problem 1. incorrect speeds pay for gig getting 200/60. was getting around 500 up til last week. now never goes over 200
problem 2. random slowdowns to 1mb or loss of internet altogether. this occurs both through router and hard-wired into the modem. signal fluctuates as much as 7 dbs in a matter of hours from +3.5 to -3.5 on channel 2. high uncorrectable (100k in 24 hours) common.
2. ground block to 2 way, 1 leg to room and tv, other to other room where 2 way, 1 leg to modem other to tv. Linksys EA6500 router. pc hardwired into the router and has been into the modem for testing.
3. technicolor 4400am - Software Version SR70.12.16

Normally other channels have significantly higher correctable/uncorrectable. this is not consistent, changes between restarts, depends on how long before I reset. I have been having to reset nearly everyday lately to keep somewhat stable connections. - at the time of posting this i can hit refresh every 10 seconds on the site and the uncorrecatble # for channel 2 will jump by 1k minimum errors.

I've been experiencing slow service on my 200mb plan. Today I had some time and noticed that my configuration file reads:

Is this a case that the incorrect configuration file was applied to my modem?
