Just noticed this channel showed up on my cable box, but it's not listed on the lineup for this area. Unfortunately, it's only audio; video was black screen a few minutes ago, and now is a series of vertical bars. Just testing?

We had been using a DCM 425 until it failed a month or so back. My wife took it to the mediacom office and they gave her a Netgear CG3000D to replace it. I don't really like this modem because it needs to be restarted a couple of times per week. Just this morning I got up and Internet service wasn't working. I power cycled the thing and now everything is back to normal. Is there a reliable modem that I can get from Mediacom to replace this flaky one? I need one that is either just a modem or has bridge mode.

I'm getting what seem like random times that my internet connectivity drops. Everything was working fine until last week (confirmed with test-ipv6.com and ipv6-test.com). Now my router is not getting an address. I haven't changed a single thing. I unplugged my modem and turned off my router before leaving for work the other day to see if that would solve the problem, but IPv6 is still not working. The person I spoke with claimed that everything looked OK on his end, but that he couldn't help me because I own my modem. Is there anybody from Mediacom who can provide some answers?

Getting 150/20 service installed next week, would like to purchase a modem instead of lease. I don't see an approved list anywhere and the closest I could find was this thread from a couple months ago saying most anything should work except for a certain Netgear model. https://forums.mediacomcable.com/index.php?topic=32499.0 Any advantage to going with a 16 or 32 channel downstream modem over a standard 8 stream like the SB6141 if 150Mbps down is all that is currently offered in my service area? What about something like this TP-Link TC-7610 (currently cheap in a bundle deal at Amazon)? http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-DOCSIS-Speed-Charter-TC-7610-E/dp/B010Q29YF8

Hello all, I just recently switched (on 5/3/16) to Mediacom, and I've been having an issue since then with my connection dropping, and I was hoping to get some help in solving it. Following the steps in the guideline for this site, here is my info. 1. Frequent, random dropping of connection. Sometimes with slow performance before the connection calls it quits. 2. Only have modem and router, with three devices normally connected. (2 PC's and a Playstation) 3. My router is a Zoom Model 5345 (Software version 5345-5.5.10.6) , and the router is a Netgear N300 WiFi Router (firmware version V1.0.0.34). Both were bought in the last couple days. 4. I just joined Mediacom's 150MBPS service and have a TCL Roku TV and it will not join the wireless network no matter what I do. I was using Bellsouth/AT&T and a Buffalo router and the TV connected wireless very easily before I switched. I have the CGNVM-2559 Hitron router/ telephone router that Mediacom sent me and I think that is the problem. I tried to admin it in the first 24 hours (the allowed time for new installs) but didn't get full admin access. So here is where I am at...........I have bridged the Buffalo router with the Hitron router (yeah got I pissed and I know a little about networking, did it for 12 years) and it will connect that way so I know it is some settings in the Hitron that needs to be changed. What do I need to do to get someone at Mediacom that KNOWS what they are doing enough to change the settings? I worked with Roku and TCL already so I know it isn't on their end. Plus like I said I got it working with the bridged router..... so the Hitron is to blame. From what I am reading the settings might need to be changed to WPA2-PSK (TKIP) on the encryption end. I realize most cable companies don't like the idea of free TV and like to make it harder to connect smart TVs, but I am paying for full cable plus premium channels too. So I need someone at Mediacom to work their magic. I would just like to add, I tried going to Mediacom's support forums.... You still can't register nor can you post unless you are registered. You guys are a big money company....fix your forums.... I could probably do it in a few hours and I have been out of the tech field for 8 years.

I was watching TV without issue, switched over to the Xbox to watch Netflix, and when I came back to the TiVo I have a black screen with a message about HDCP. I took a picture of the message. I power cycled the unit and unplugged and re-plugged the HDMI cable.

Hey Guys, I ordered TV and internet for my dad for $89.99 plus taxes and fees and all else. My question is what's the picture quality like now with Mediacom's HD offerings. My dad is getting cold feet even though I got him a 4 tuner TiVo Premiere, he's contemplating keeping DirecTV even though they won't give him any offers after being a customer for 12 years and between DirecTV and Centurylink he's paying $180 a month (10 meg internet through centurylink at $72 a month and DirecTV fills out the rest.) I'm trying to convince him to give Mediacom a shot and just let them install it and try to get him using it and hopefully it will work out for him and he can get rid of paying directv $30 a month for equipment (1 DVR and one Genie.) If anyone has switched from DirecTV to mediacom and can weigh in I'd appreciate it. Do you have many issues? Picture quality seem pretty close to DirecTV? I know DirecTV uses mpeg4 but sometimes I swear my Charter TV looks better than his DirecTV (and that's going from my Vizio 70" and his Samsung 55")

I've been having problems with my Mediacom internet connection since April 21st. I've had two different technicians out to look at the issue. When I called and talked with support they indicated there was signal loss. When the techs were out they indicated that everything looked fine to them. I've documented issues with the connection and I've even tried my old backup D-Link DCM-202 cable modem and I still have the same issue. The last tech that was out said it was my cable modem (Arris 6141) that was at fault. So I contacted them and they are in the process of sending me a replacement. I am currently using my older D-Link DCM-202 modem and it works just as sporadically as the previous Arris 6141. The problem seems to get much worse when I attempt to backup my computers to my AWS cloud. I'm told there is some monitoring that can be done to help isolate the issue but the techs that have been out haven't been helpful at all. They are here for all of about 5 minutes and the connection works for them for the short time they are here. But the longer I use the connection or the more data backup I do the more the problem happens. Does anyone have any suggestions on who I can talk with at Mediacom to get the issue permanently resolved. I'm close to going back to CenturyLink. Thanks.

I have been having intermittent problems for several weeks now. This evening, I'm getting anywhere from 23-81% packet loss. Yes, I am using Ethernet cable and NOT Wi-Fi. so i log in to day to check balance and i notice im enrolled in ecobilling that i never asked to be enrolled in. click edit and change that. (i dont do paperless, most companies dont use accessible PDF's, they have to be formatted a certain way and that was is not the way you see the bill) second i see a $10 charge that was reversed. so i take a look. overage. uh pardon me? [att=1] [att=2] [att=3] im sure ill get some message about how gracious they are for giving me a credit for the first overage. i dont buy it. 1 desktop, 1 ipad, 1 nexus 7. no netflix, no hulu, no amazon streaming. yeah no. and unless my neighbor figured out how to crack a 25 digit wpa2 + aes key, no intruders on the network. (which is moot since the figures dont match)
